The next Town election will be held on May 5, 2026. Three Council Member seats will be up for election.

To hold elective or appointive office as Mayor or Town Council member, an individual must be a citizen of the United States, at least twenty-one (21) years of age, and a resident of the Town for at least one (1) year. Property ownership alone does not qualify an individual for election or appointment as a Town Council member.

Voting Qualifications
To vote in a Town Election, individuals must be registered. To register, one must be a citizen of the United States, at least eighteen (18) years of age, and a resident of the Town for at least thirty (30) days prior to the election.

The 2026 Candidate Forum, hosted by the Leonardtown Business Association, will take place on Tuesday, April 28 at The Rex Theatre. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and the forum will begin at 6:00 p.m.
Questions for candidates may be submitted in advance using the button above.

Questions will be reviewed for fairness and relevance. Due to time constraints, only a limited number of questions will be addressed. No questions will be permitted from the audience once the forum begins.
You may turn in a question in writing prior to the start of the forum at 6:00 p.m.
